San Diego

I left my soul in San Diego,

I’m haunting myself, a bodied ghost,

I don’t want to grow up, I want to run away,

Want to build me a new self in some new place.

I’m wanting, I’m lonely,

I’m everything I bury,

I think I lost my heart somewhere,

Now I’m beating myself to replace the noise,

I don’t want to grow up, I’m not ready to face it,

But I know I’ve never had a choice.

Maybe I can hide somewhere only I know,

Maybe I’ll just go back to San Diego.

I left my bones in San Diego,

Under the coaster at the bar,

I was planning on figuring out what I’m so afraid of,

But I’m afraid that I never got that far.

I’m wanting, I’m lonely,

I’m everything I bury,

I think I lost my heart somewhere,

Now I’m beating myself to replace the noise,

I don’t want to grow up, I’m not ready to face it,

But I know I’ve never had a choice.

Maybe I can hide somewhere only I know,

Maybe I’ll just go back to San Diego.
